From Kærup Holmeskjulet , visitors can see reed buntings during the summer months, especially between March and June, as well as a large number of flying reed hawks.

The locality is particularly known for its colony of black terns. Silver herons are regularly seen in late summer and early autumn. During the winter months, the shallow Kogleaks Lake is often visited by a variety of ducks.
